How long in advance should you arrive at Weeze Airport?
Are you flying from Weeze Airport? Then it’s good to know in advance what time you need to be at the airport at the latest. Weeze is a relatively small and easy-to-navigate airport, but that doesn’t mean you can leave without planning ahead. Your arrival time depends on several factors, such as your flight, how busy the airport is and the car park you book.
In this blog, we explain how long in advance you need to be at Weeze Airport, what you need to take into account and how parking affects your schedule.
General guideline: what time should you arrive at Weeze Airport?
As a guideline, you should arrive at Weeze Airport approximately 2 to 2.5 hours before departure. You will need this time for:
- Check-in and baggage drop-off
- Security check
- Proceed to the gate
Weeze Airport also advises arriving well in advance, although the exact times may vary depending on the airline.

Weeze Airport: small but growing and popular
Weeze Airport is a compact airport with short walking distances and a single, clearly laid-out terminal. At the same time, passenger numbers have been growing for years.
It is expected that Weeze Airport will handle more than 2 million passengers in 2025. This makes the airport increasingly popular, particularly among Dutch travellers.
Important reasons:
- Located just across the border, easily accessible from the Netherlands
- Often competitive ticket prices
- A well-organised airport without long distances
This growth means that, despite the small scale, it remains wise to plan sufficient time.
Your arrival time also depends on your parking space
Where you park at Weeze Airport directly affects how much extra time you need. With Park & Fly, you can park at P1, P2 or P3. These car parks vary in distance from the terminal.
P1
- Closest to the terminal
- Suitable for travellers with lots of luggage or disabled travellers
- Ideal if you want to walk as little as possible
- Walking distance: ± 1-3 minutes
P2
- Good balance between price and distance
- Slightly further from the terminal than P1, but still within walking distance.
- Walking distance: ± 5-7 minutes
P3
- Often the cheapest parking spot
- It is furthest from the terminal and therefore requires a bit more planning.
- Walking distance: ± 8-12 minutes
Tip: Always factor in walking distance when determining your arrival time, especially if you are travelling with children or have a lot of luggage.
Time savings thanks to number plate recognition
If you book your parking space at Weeze Airport via Park & Fly, you will use number plate recognition.
The barriers will open automatically upon arrival and departure. You do not need to take a ticket or go to a payment machine, which saves you extra time.
Parking at Weeze Airport for disabled travellers
For disabled travellers, P1 is the most practical choice.
This car park has reserved parking spaces in the first row at the terminal.
Important:
- Place your European disabled parking card clearly visible on the dashboard
- A copy of the card is sufficient
This keeps the walking distance to a minimum and ensures that your journey starts as comfortably as possible.
